This blog thing…

So, I think I’ve finally sort of figured out my process and my structure to this thing that I’m attempting to do. To be honest, I’m still not fully sure what it is. But, I think that’s okay. I have an idea and I’m gonna see it through to the end. As long as I’m being true to myself, I’ll be happy with whatever it becomes! You’ll be hearing from me soon!

Check out my Tumblr for daily blurbs, inspirational quotes, and things that inspire me that I hope may inspire you too. Also, see all the shit I geek out over.

Posts From a Busy Bee

Hey there, I know that I do have a few readers. And recently I haven’t been posting anything. I was just so so busy, with working on a show, and working at a restaurant. And then after the show, I went home, and then I tried putting my life back together, but it was tough to catch up. But, I did catch up. I had a good audition as well, so finger crossed.

As for my content, I’m really excited to say that I know have multiple platforms where you can read my work. I will be freelancing for Manhattan Digest and also the website MyTrendingStories. So, be looking at here for more info on that. After this election, there’s just so much that I feel I need to say. I’ve been reflecting and praying and meditating on it, and I think I’m ready to start speaking. I’m about to work on my you’re tube channel so be looking out for some vlpgs as well. This is a wild adventure I want to embark on in my writing . But, I must make my voice be heard. I’m not perfect and I have my flaws, but I do want to make the fight be known. I wanna use my voice for good and justice.

So, The Aesthetic is just getting started!

“Fat & Gay”: One Man Struggles For Acceptance In A Post-Grindr World

That’s the title of a post from NewNowNext, the biggest queer media outlet. I thought this was interesting, because I have dealt with this issue as well, especially as I have gotten older and the rose tinted glasses were lifted. Honestly, the word fat is still a bit triggering, but I’m learning to not put so much weight (Ha!) behind it. I’ve learned that it doesn’t have to be negative or make me feel negatively about myself.

But. watching this video just once again reaffirmed the fact, that you don’t have to have the ‘perfect body’. Why? Because it doesn’t exist. Even people who we deem having perfect bodies find flaws everyday. Just because you have some extra meat on your bones doesn’t mean you are not attractive or that no one wants you. Unfortunately, in the day community, that is really hard to grasp, because, like Martjin in the video, we have all been attacked if we’re gay men of girth. So, what, I have moobs and a belly. I can still be confident and sexy, why? Because I freaking love myself. Listen, the one bit of advice in this video that I don’t agree with is the chasers thing. A person does not have to be a chaser to be attracted to you if you are chubby.

What happened to personality or how kind someone was. Even how well someone dresses. We don’t even look at people’s faces anymore. It is all about abs and pecs. But, that is not all there is. There’s someone (several people) out there for all of us. We just have to find the person who sees past all the shallow bull of the community and get to know you and your body. You are beautiful. We are all beautiful. I truly believe that. God made us all beautiful creatures. Just believe in yourself. Now, get out there and go ask that hot guy out! You never know what might happen if you are confident!

Hope you enjoy, check out the video above and like NewNowNext for more stuff like it and other queer stories.

What’s on my mind…

So, this will be a kind of “Quote of the day” post. So, I love the show Being Mary Jane on BET. And there are quotes at the beginning of every episode, so some of these will come from there. Today’s does.

Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain… To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices – today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it.

Kevyn Aucoin

This quote reminds me of a line from the finale of one of my favorite musicals, Next to Normal. The line, “…and you find out you don’t have to be happy at all; to be happy you’re alive.” And today I embrace and celebrate that. Know I may not always be super cheery, but I find joy in the fact that I am alive and living. I get to do what I love and there’s so much for me on the horizon of the future. How can I not at least be happy about that? Challenge yourself to see that everyday you wake up, allow yourself to feel, because that’s human. Just don’t let your soul wallow and get bogged down in it! YOU ultimately control your happiness!
Have blessed day peeps!

Sing, laugh, love.
